London output outfit The HeavyTrackerz are accountable for developing the soundscapes for some of grime’s largest anthems, such as “German Whip” by Meridian Dan and “Common” by Stormzy, but in among that they like to launch their personal bangers and on November 13, will release the stick to-up to their 2017 debut album, Odyssey, with TRKRZ.
Today, following the album’s first single “Sweet Like” with Huge Narstie and Tulin, HeavyTrackerz return with visuals for next single “500 Likes”, featuring British grime/rap legend Scorcher, alt-rap star Kojey Radical and a catchy sung hook from BBK affiliate Lay-Z.
Talking with Advanced via e mail, the HT fellas advised us: “We planned ‘500 Likes’ about a yr back. The thought behind it all was off the back of a joke we experienced amongst ourselves in the studio: what people will do on social media and how a lot they would sacrifice for a few likes! Lay-Z was the very first individual we strike up just after his collaboration on Skepta’s LP, Ignorance Is Bliss, then we waited a whole year right after we revived Scorcher’s verse and, at that level, we knew we desired to generate a collaboration that most men and women wouldn’t count on, so we had a single name in mind: Kojey Radical! We strike him up on Instagram and in the studio, we did a bunch of tracks for the album but his verse on ‘500 Likes’ just edged it for us.”
The Oliver Brian-directed visuals were encouraged by a ’90s comedy: “Our ideas for films are often a bit wacko, so we believed we’d arrive up with a Groundhog Day kinda film,” they extra, “wherever the motions and scenes would be repetitive to replicate on how we continually scroll, faucet and perspective photos on Instagram frequently on a every day foundation.”
Peep the video clip for “500 Likes” completely over, and be confident to include the track to your playlists. TRKRZ is out everywhere you go on November 13.
