Stormzy’s Banksy-Developed Stab-Evidence Vest Nominated For Main Design Award

The Banksy-designed stab-evidence vest that Stormzy famously donned at Glastonbury Competition past 12 months has been nominated for a key layout award.

The vest was worn by the Croydon rapper to emphasize structural racism in the British isles soon after he made record by turning into the 1st-ever Black British solo act to headline the competition in 2019.

The eye-catching piece, with its graffitied black and white Union Jack flag, was made by the famously anonymous artist Banksy from a former police problem garment,  which is described as “able of stopping bullets up to .45 calibre and is entirely stab-evidence, still not machine washable.”

The vest was selected to higlight inequality in the justice system and the arts, with organisers of the new Beazley Designs exhibition proclaiming the piece represents “a defining cultural minute.”

The winner of the Beazley Designs of the Yr prize will be introduced by London’s Design Museum upcoming thirty day period, that includes 74 nominations throughout 6 categories: architecture, digital, vogue, graphics, merchandise and transportation.

The exhibition opens at the Design and style Museum in London on Oct 21 and runs right until March 28, 2021, with an all round winner currently being introduced on November 26, 2021.
