Is there anything Megan Thee Stallion can’t do these days? Fresh from earning her first-ever platinum-selling and certified album with 2020’s Good News, she’s continuing to reach career milestones not just for herself but for women around the globe.
The newest edition of Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Issue comes with some pretty mind-blowing Black Girl Magic. From 23-year-old tennis icon Naomi Osaka securing a cover, to actress Leyna Bloom becoming the first transgender woman to grace an issue, there are all types of precedents being established here. But it’s Thee Stallion’s presence which runs deeper than a couple million likes and comments.
Megan securing her own cover makes the H-Town native the first female rapper to grace the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit series.
Stallion’s new issue proves to be much more than a solid look for Meg. She writes on Instagram, “I want to thank all the strong women in my life who inspired me to love my body and live my best hot girl life. It means the world to me to be on this cover DREAM COME TRUE.”
Even Top Dawg Entertainment’s SZA snuck into the comments section to tell Meg the look is “hella deserved” and Meg received much praise from both rap star 2 Chainz and her Roc Nation management team.
This year has already featured Meg winning her first-ever Grammy awards, hard-earned BET Awards and acclaim from both peers and mentors alike.
With huge summer concerts on deck and the Hotties always begging Meg to come through with new music, is there any doubt she’s going to keep slaying all the way into 2022?
