Rapper Yo Gotti, who has seen success as a rapper and the entrepreneur behind the careers of Moneybagg Yo, 42 Dugg, and EST Gee, has announced his retirement from making music.

Taking to Instagram, Gotti posted, “I’m gone Finish This SH!T just how I started!!! Wit No Regrets, Standing on Business & Principles. Motivating All Hustlers, knowin;g we took da Highest Risk for a Better Outcome. To the Streets, Plugs, Fans & Consumers. I’m FOREVER GRATEFUL”.

Beyond his own artistry, Gotti has established one of the hottest, artist-run record labels in hip-hop with CMG Records, having developed the careers of the label’s most successful roster of artists that includes Moneybagg Yo, 42 Dugg, EST Gee, and more. The Memphis mogul will continue to work closely with each artist as the head of CMG, where he oversees the strategy and execution of their respective music releases and spearheads decision-making across everything, from radio promotion to marketing initiatives.

Most recently, in the fall of 2021, Gotti released his single “For The Record,” which touches on his entrepreneurial ambitions, growth as a businessman, and desire to set an example for his CMG signees.

Yo Gotti’s final album will be released on Friday, February 4.  It will be a double-disc album with one side called “Free” and the other side called “Game.”

Besides his success as a rapper and head of his own label, Yo Gotti is now officially a co-owner of D.C. United, a Major League Soccer team. The Memphis rapper credits his son for introducing him to the sport.  The soccer club has recently been in the news for record-setting trades with top players in the league, setting up their roster for a strong 2022 season.

Recently, Yo Gotti gave the world a glimpse of just how much he is worth. Though the Memphis rapper and entrepreneur didn’t get too specific, he tweeted that he is worth eight figures. This puts his earnings at $10 million or more.  No matter what the number, he’s doing pretty good for himself, something he reiterated in his tweet.
