Yeat Shares Official Video for New Track “Still Countin”

After receiving a Drake co-sign and posting impressive SoundCloud numbers, Los Angeles-based rapper Yeat is looking to reach new heights in 2022.

Months after signing with Interscope Records, the up-and-comer returned Friday with “Still Countin.” The song, which was accompanied by a Cole Bennett-directed video, marks Yeat’s first record under a major label, and arrives about five months since he delivered his Up 2 Më indie project.

The track features production by mTwenty, Synthetic, Rision, and Ninetyniiine, who shed some light on how the single came to be.

“Everything came kinda full circle on this one; the first song we did with Rision and with Yeat was on [2 Alivë] almost a year ago, and we got to work together again here on the sequel,” he said in a comment posted on Genius. “Synthetic and I were cooking up melodies for the album, and this was the very first one we made. Mtwenty was out in New York with Rision at the time, so I sent him a pack. They had a studio session, knocked out a couple beats, and Rision sent it out. A few days later the snippet popped up on IG live.”

“Still Countin” is expected to land on Yeat’s much-anticipated 2 Alivë album. Though he has yet to confirm an official drop date, he told fans the project was completed and would arrive sometime this month.
